About Us

PureDrops has been established in 2012 by seven young students of the Master in Strategy and International Management (SIM) at the University of St. Gallen. With the purpose of providing people who are most in need with access to clean drinking water. The project is part of one of the courses of the SIM master, the SIMagination Challenge, aiming at teaching students how to execute challenging projects based on social impact measures, team process and effectiveness, and sustainability considerations.

To date, PureDrops has donated 100 biosand water purification systems in Indonesia, 1130 ceramic water filters to 31 schools in Guatemala and over 350 water filters to schools in Uganda, thus providing 32 500 children with access to clean drinking water.
